The winning proposal for the invited competition to create an iconic lighting masterplan for the historic downtown of Chicago and its neighboring communities. Though formally a lighting plan the project entailed creating distinct framework plan born from multiple platforms, (whether landscape, light, architecture nature, transportation, or multimedia), to serve as a vehicle to bolster tourism and attract 30million new tourists annually to the city of Chicago. The comprehensive study transcends scale to utilize and enhance the cities’ historic infrastructure of the Bridges, the Buildings, the Chicago River, the El, and Lower Wacker Drive.
